Bertie has developed programmes for numerous mentoring schemes, and consulted and contributed to European transnational projects.

I bring over 18 years experience in the field of mentoring to The Conversation Space. I currently co-ordinate the Professional Mentoring Programme at Brunel University London, and am Mentoring Adviser to ‘Guiding Lights’ mentoring programme for filmmakers and Film London Microwave Project.

My mentoring projects have included the Learning Skills Network (LSN) and B-Mentor, a cross institutional mentoring pilot project that links post-doctoral academics from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) backgrounds to mentors drawn from senior academics/managers within partner universities.

I have also been consultant and contributor to ‘MaiTre’ (mentor training materials for Vocational Education and Training); ‘Restart’ (strategies to prevent early school leaving); ‘EQUAL’ (resources to support audio-visual entrepreneurs); and ‘EMPIRE’ a Leonardo funded research project to test the effectiveness of ‘blended mentoring’ to improve career guidance and counselling.
